American vocalist Joanna Teters is carving a place for herself in the hearts and minds of today’s music lovers with original, forward-thinking, new school soul music. Increasingly recognized for her ability to switch effortlessly from lush, deeply sultry tones to rugged reggae and blues. Joanna Teters declares her passion for the great stars of the musical firmament: from the brilliant Amy Winehouse to Stevie Wonder, from the famous soul training of Sly; the Family Stone to the great Sarah Vaughan up to meet the reggae of the late Bob Marley. After many formative years in the mountains
of upstate New York, she then went on to pursue her degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she began to develop her craft over the years as bandleader, songwriter, frontwoman for bands such as Mad Satta, Drew of the Drew, Lowtone Society and iLa Mawana. Joanna Teters will present her repertoire, featuring The Family Affair band, exclusively for the Nora festival. A cosmopolitan quartet composed by musicians from different parts of the world: YuYing Hsu, Taiwanese pianist, certainly among the most interesting Asian musicians of the last generation, Tina Raymond, American resident in Los Angeles, highly on demand drummer and accredited professor around the world. to complete with two acclaimed and appreciated worldwide Italian musicians and composers: Bassist, Giuseppe “Fratello Joseph” Bassi, also leader of The Family Affair, and Roberto Ottaviano.
