An exclusive for the Nora Jazz Festival 2018: “No Eyes – Looking at Lester Young”, album and live tribute to the great saxophonist Lester Young, a new project by Emanuele Cisi, one of the most appreciated tenor saxophonists of the contemporary scene.
Cisi collaborations during the course of his prolific career are with legendary names as; Clark Terry, Nat Adderley, Jimmy Cobb, Sting, Albert Heath, Benny Golson, Billy Cobham, Branford Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Aldo Romano and others.
He has over ten leading and over 100 records as a sideman and coleader.
The concert will see a new collaboration with the band as special guest, the Danish singer Sinne Eeg, one of the best Scandinavian jazz singers, with five consecutive awards such as Best vocal jazz album, best performer, best album, and first vocalist in history to receive the Ben Webster Award.
The rhythm section welcomes the pianist / trumpet player Dino Rubino who, with his delicate and descriptive poetics, helps to make the spirit of “Prez” hover.
The renowned contrabassist Rosario Bonaccorso and the Australian drummer Adam Pache, among the most promising session drummers of the moment.
Cisi’s project has attracted the attention of one of the most important music labels, Warner Music, which wanted to produce the album coming out in May 2018.
